Bitcoin Mining currently Consumes 0.25% of Worldwide Electricity

Bitcoin mining consumes large amounts of energy, and in exchange for the cost of initial electricity. Miners rewarded with a set amount of BTC to validate each block added to the Bitcoin blockchain.

As the network of crypto assets increases in size and scale, more power needed to execute the operation. BTC as a network has grown so much that it now consumes a quarter of the world's electricity supply.

Bitcoin mining requires up to 0.25% of the world's electricity supply

Bitcoin mining is a complex mathematical process known as "proof of work". To ensure validity, each block added to the blockchain must first be validated by this process. As time passes, the difficulty of mining increases and, as a result. The technology requires the mine to become more expensive and powerful.
In the early days of Bitcoin, mining was as simple as using the CPU of any normal computer. Later, the miners turned to the GPUs and, finally, the difficulty of mining increased so much that specialized computers specifically designed for mining built.

But as the need for technology becomes more powerful, more power is required to power the devices. And as Bitcoin scales, there is also a need for greater energy supply.

Now it has reached the stage where Bitcoin consumes 0.25% of the world's electricity supply, more than many countries.
This important milestone shared by the student and managing partner of Columbia University in Blocktown Capital, James Todaro. The public figure points to the fact that such an achievement unites Bitcoin as an important asset and technology for life, things like baby caps, tulips or even rat poisons. It throws negative comparisons.

The use demonstrates that technology has merit and, over time, can become a pillar in other everyday technologies, such as computers, refrigerators, and televisions. Televisions, for example, use 5% to 8% of the world's residential electricity supply and often have more than one per household.

In terms of global adoption, BTC will be used as 50% of the world's population by 2043, a feat that the Internet is now only achieving, despite widespread use among the general public
Bitcoin still has a long way to go to reach a situation like television or the Internet. But consuming even a quarter of the world's electricity supply makes the world realize that Bitcoin is here to stay. And one day It will convert everyday technology like TV, the internet, computer and more.
